In January 2018, I was in NYC, where a state of emergency had been declared. As bad luck would have it, the biggest cold wave in decades had arrived. Not a lot of snow. However, it was just an aggressively cold world. Many stores were closed and people disappeared from Times Square. It was a completely different NYC than usual.
